IDENTITY EVOLUTION GO TO TOP

Abuelita Yarns was born from the brand called Balitex. The meaning of this name comes from the family name merged with the word ‘yarns’ in Spanish (Balian + Textiles= Balitex). And this brand is known here in Uruguay since 1978.

Abuelita Yarns is only six months old, and at first, was just called Abuelita. This brand was created with another philosophy. Abuelita refers to granny in Spanish, and we decided to keep it that way because we believe that is the best way to transmit our values and where we come from. The grannies are transmitters of family and cultural identity, and they symbolize the archetype of wise women. Abuelita Yarns is as tender, soft and warm as grannies are. We believe in a kind of granny that reinvent herself each day, who is able to adapt her lifestyle to our modern and dynamic world with an open mind.
